Error installing phc module, Ubuntu 12.04 (SOVLED)

Post by chrs » Thu 28. Nov 2013, 08:39

Sorry if this came up before but I searched and couldn't find this exact problem. I'm trying to get phc running on my thinkpad but I must have screwed something up. I'm running a phc kernel 3.2.0 on an updated Ubuntu 12.04 system:

Code: Select all

chris@thinkpad:~/Downloads/phc-k8_v0.4.5b3$ uname -a
Linux thinkpad 3.2.0-24-generic-phc #39~phc0-Ubuntu SMP Sat May 26 03:04:04 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

When I try to build the phc-k8 package:

Code: Select all

chris@thinkpad:~/Downloads/phc-k8_v0.4.5b3$ sudo make dkms_install
mkdir -p /usr/src/phc-k8-0.4.5b3
install -m 644 -o root -g root Makefile dkms.conf phc-k8.c phc-k8.h mperf.c mperf.h /usr/src/phc-k8-0.4.5b3
install -m 744 -o root -g root phc-k8.add /usr/src/phc-k8-0.4.5b3
dkms add build install -m phc-k8 -v 0.4.5b3

Creating symlink /var/lib/dkms/phc-k8/0.4.5b3/source ->
                 /usr/src/phc-k8-0.4.5b3

At this point I'm stuck and not sure of the next move. Thanks!

SOLVED

Looks like the problem was the powernow_k8 kernel module that was getting in the way. I had removed the thinkpad_acpi module and thought that was enough.
