Firmware Bug on Overclocked System?

Post by dsimcha » Tue 18. May 2010, 01:50

I've installed PHC on Ubuntu 10.4, and it's not working. dmesg |grep phc yields a generic message about a "firmware bug", probably because my computer is overclocked. When I de-overclock it, this message goes away and dmesg outputs reasonable stuff w.r.t. phc.

My mobo is an Abit KN-9. My CPU is an Athlon 64 X2 3600+. I know that it's physically possible to control the voltage and multiplier of my hardware from within an OS even when it's overclocked because in Windows I use CrystalCPUID for this and it works. Does anyone know how to force phc to work on Linux with my overclocked CPU and ignore any "firmware bugs" it thinks I have?
