phc-intel hangs acpid

Post by darkbasic » Sun 28. Feb 2010, 22:07

Patching linux-2.6.33 with phc-intel (both 0.3 and 0.4) hangs acpid, even if phc_intel or acpi-cpufreq are not loaded.
Just start acpid (which will start laptop-mode on acpi events) and trigg an apci event (like unplugging the AC). Acpid will stop to work and even kill -9 will not be able to kill it.
Note that laptop-mode does NOT handle cpu frequency variation.
Let me know how can I help to track this bug down.

Sorry, it wasn't a phc-intel issue, for some strange reason doing

Code: Select all

echo on > /sys/bus/usb/devices/$usb_device/power/autosuspend
for some devices (one of them is my mouse) after putting them in a power management state hangs the system.
