[Solved] Intel Core2 support? [==> yes]

Post by tntprog » Wed 7. Jan 2009, 02:36

Hi

More and more laptops have an Intel Core2 CPU, and PHC only supports Intel Pentium-M processors officially (it is said that it supports Core/Core2 with some limitations).

So, is it planned to supports Core/Core2, and when?

Thanks!

Core2 CPUs are fully supported. The only limitation is that you can not set a lower Voltage than the standart one for the lowest frequency.

For example if your CPU is using 0.95V for 800MHz you can not set a deeper Voltage but you may set the voltages for higher frequencies to that value do reduce heatung and power usage while processing something.

OK, fine! Is it a hardware or a software limitation? I guess a hardware one..?

EDIT : so the Intel T9400 should be supported, right?

Yes it is a hardware limitation and yes, your cpu should work even if the FIDs will look strange the VIDs are okay
