Hi all!
Thanks for your tools!

I have a laptop (fujitsu-siemens amilo pro 2010) with this cpu:

Code: Select all

$ lshw
*-cpu
          product: Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.60GHz
          vendor: Intel Corp.
          physical id: 1
          bus info: cpu@0
          version: 6.13.6
          size: 600MHz
          capacity: 600MHz
          width: 32 bits
capabilities: fpu fpu_exception wp vme de pse tsc msr mce cx8 mtrr pge mca cmov clflush dts acpi mmx fxsr sse sse2 ss tm pbe up bts est tm2 cpufreq
I think I have a cpu that supports undervolting, because in windows xp I can run rightmark cpu clock utility successfully.
Instead in Ubuntu 10.04 I have a problem:
I installed the kernel and phc-intel. Every thing without any error (finally!). But after reboot, when I run this command:

Code: Select all

cat: /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_default_vids: No device

No vid appears.
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq$ ls
affected_cpus phc_default_vids scaling_cur_freq
cpuinfo_max_freq phc_fids scaling_driver
cpuinfo_min_freq phc_version scaling_governor
cpuinfo_transition_latency phc_vids scaling_max_freq
ondemand related_cpus scaling_min_freq
phc_controls scaling_available_frequencies scaling_setspeed
phc_default_controls scaling_available_governors stats
And if I run intel-phc-undervolt.bash

Code: Select all

ERROR: No CPU core capable of undervolting found.
If I run read_msr.py

Code: Select all

CPU cpu0 having no msr interface.
I'm a bit :? . A silent pc in Ubuntu is a mirage for me!
How can I solve?
Thanks in advance and excuse me for my poor English.
