Blacklisting both modules acpi_cpufreq and cpufreq_stats and additionally putting phc-intel to /etc/modules solves the problem. This workaround should not be needed. For non dkms installations the phc-intel.modprobe file in the package is installed, which does take care of this. And for dkms instal...

there are minimal differences around line 700 which might kill my laptop ;–) I should definitely learn C before putting my hands on code I don’t understand … The location of kfree(data->freq_table); is the only difference I spotted on a first view around line 700. I have one but would like to test it before pushing out another update of the phc-intel-pack. Expect it to be online as the 3.0 kernel goes stable, at the latest.
