Re: mageia support?

What's your exact problem? Intel or AMD? Kernel version? Error messages?

Re: phc-intel patch should change the ".name"

Out of curiosity, which distribution do you use? I haven't fixed older patches yet because either distributions ship acpi-cpufreq as a module or they provide versions greater than 3.2.

Re: Kernel 3.13 on Pentium M with PHC rev.14 - no worky?

What Distribution do you use? Ubuntu? You can ignore the compile warning and assuming Ubuntu, modprobe -r is expected to fail as acpi-cpufreq is built-in and can't be removed (only modules can be removed). Which kernel version did work for you? (Ubuntu 12.04 should be something like >=3.2) Did you n...

Re: Nehalem generation support

There is no support because those processors lack the propper controls ever since. If the BIOS/UEFI firmware does not provide voltage adjustment you are stuck with the defaults.

Re: PPAs for Quantal (Ubuntu 12.10)

Without phc, all steps worked fine. So the phc governor has yet to prove that it is not his fault If you don't set any value through the phc-interface at all, you get the stock acpi-cpufreq behaviour. At least it's supposed to be this way. ;) What kind of CPU do you have? Which patch-version do you...

Re: PPAs for Quantal (Ubuntu 12.10)

Looks like it's working, right? :o Yep. This hops back and forth, "performance" sets 2.4-2.4 GHz, "ondemand" sets 1.6-1.6 GHz. But it takes half a minute to change between them, so that cannot be optimal. And, as power consumption is also a linear function of frequency, this cannot be the most econ...

Re: Support for Intel 3.10/3.11 kernel

Thanks lio, so no need in "building"? Everything I have to do is to boot with "cpufreq_driver=phc-intel" in the grub config options? I'll try it later today. Finally this should work with the new phc-intel package. http://www.linux-phc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=267 Just build and install the ke...
