Re: PHC-intel not working after resume from suspend

Displaying data for CPU cpu1 /--------------------------------------- | Target FID: 136 \--------------------------------------- I didn't see it before: a strange target FID of 136. You should try phc-0.4.0 and test again. And please try read_msr.py 0.2 http://www.linux-phc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?...

Re: PHC-intel not working after resume from suspend

First as I said, although after resume from suspend I do not see the temperature fall, still the shell shows that the values are correct (i.e. not the default values). In that case why would it help to reset the undervolted values? Because the shell is a lie. At least in this case. On suspend, core...

Re: PHC-intel not working after resume from suspend

Hi,

It's a known issue. See for example: http://www.linux-phc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=206 - Just reapply the voltage settings on resume.

Re: Reached VID

17 Is the default vid: it would seem that according to the PHCtool vids below 17 are unreachabe? Thats how Intel designed the CPU. The lowest VID is locked and you can't get lower. Which is such a shame because most of the time a typical CPU is idling at the lowest frequency but phc can't achive an...

Re: Kernel 3.2.0.4, unable to load phc-intel

Hm, could be kernel/module-version mismatch. Do you have additional kernel-sources installed? What's the output of `ls /usr/src/` and `ls /lib/modules/`? What's the output of your make-run?

Btw. you don't need to run `make` as root. only `make install`.

Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 3.

What type of CPU do you have? What exactly did you do to make phc work? While you don't need to rebuild your own kernel on Ubuntu anymore, you still have to compile the phc-module itself and it has to be installed in the right place. How did you do it? With dkms? How do you load the module? What hap...

Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 3.

No need to update the pack as phc-intel-pack-rev16 is compatible with kernel 3.17.
