Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 4.

Do you remember doing something different with your install? Maybe I'm missing something on my system. Thanks! Just checked the installation's history: I installed rpmbuild, kernel-headers, kernel-devel and kernel-devel-4.2.3-300.fc23.i686 then recognized you used kernel 4.5 so I also installed kern...

Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 4.

I'm pretty sure I'm running the version from the repos Thanks for your effort. I could reproduce your issue partially on a vanilla Fedora 23. make tries to build acpi-cpufreq.c while this file is not ready for prime time. You can see the same effect if you run `make -j` on a multi-processor system....

Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 4.

Preparing build area for phc-intel-0.3.2: searching for patch directory... using ./inc/ copying files cp: cannot stat ‘./inc//acpi-cpufreq.c’: No such file or directory In summary, the first error is related to the phc-intel.c dependency, which make doesn't know how to build. Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 4.

phc-intel-pack-rev21 is out with refreshed patches for kernel 4.6 lio PS: I didn't implement a solution for kernels with different gcc-requirements (yet). However, if dkms-builds fail because of this, one can always build the module by hand and specify the gcc binary to use at the command line, e.g ...

Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 4.

I'm not able to post any code, it's recognized as a spam? One more thing I wasn't able to register on this site with mail.ru e-mail service (One of the biggest service with very good spam filtering/adjustments) why? Don't know about that. For the rest: If you only need to change CC=... in the makef...

Re: phc-intel 0.3.2 and 0.4.0 + dkms for kernel 2.6.27 to 4.

To build phc for the second one I have to edit Makefile "CC=gcc" to "CC=gcc-5" If you don't use dkms but make; make install, you can just pass CC=gcc-5 as an argmument to make at the command line. Is it possible to get "phc-intel" build success for both kernels with such different gcc versions? In ...

Re: Support for Haswell based cpus?

What else would be needed to kickstart haswell support? The way voltages are regulated changed a bit since the Pentium days. Contrary to what I wrote earlier, it is still possible to undervolt (e.g. the Intel Extreme tuning utility allows for it). Documentation about how to do this is scarce as alw...

Re: When will PHC be released for kernels above 4.0.4?

As far as I know there was no kernel side code change to break phc-intel with kernel 4.0.5. Which distribution are you using? Can you provide logs? What exactly is broken since kernel 4.0.5? Also, the package at http://www.linux-phc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=267 supports the latest kernel.

Re: [K10] no phc files in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu*/cpufr

Hi, It's Ubuntu so it's different. Try adding "cpufreq_driver=phc-k8" to your kernel command line. Probably you are using grub, so GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT or GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX is the variable you have to look at in /etc/default/grub.cfg. Afterwards run update-grub. After restart, the phc-k8 driv...
