Re: Kernel 2.6.38 phc-k8 compiling error

This you can find at the 725th line in phc-k8.c:

Code: Select all

	if (current_cpu_data.x86_vendor != X86_VENDOR_AMD)
You should change that line into:

Code: Select all

	if (__this_cpu_read(cpu_info.x86_vendor) != X86_VENDOR_AMD)
That's it!

If only I had the hardware to write it... I would really like to do that, maybe with your help in time I will be able to.

Nice work, spread the word!

By the way, feel free to add or update to our wiki as well, http://linux-phc.org/wiki/ We are only a small group of enthusiasts so we can definitely use the help!

Re: Phenom II Support

Have you checked whether the 0.4.4alpha2 driver works for your processor? It is in the "Download" -> "Test releases" topic. Please also check if the frequency/pstate information from phc-k8 matches the ones from powernow-k8. If it works, you should be able to lower the voltages via phc_vids. Higher ...

Re: Phenom II Support

Thanks for running the script! This really supports my findings until now, I already got the output of the Phenom 1055T with similar results. Unfortunately the current version of the script is unaware of the boosted pstate, so the first PState displayed should actually be the Core Performance Boost ...

Re: Linux 2.6.37

AFAIK, for phc-k8 you could use dkms installation (sudo make dkms_install), then type:

Code: Select all

dkms mkdeb --source-only
That will generate a .deb package that can easily be distributed to others... It's probably not really hard to make this work for phc-intel the same way...

Re: íntallation works but lmsensors shows Vcore doesn't change

If you change the vids to ridiculously low values, does it freeze? In that case lm-sensors is just in error...
(Please report your findings, even if lm-sensors is wrong it is useful to know here...)

Re: AMD Athlon X2 QL-66 no phc_files (karmic)

FWIW, I've uploaded an alpha2 release in Test-Releases that supports K10 processors (Phenom/Turion II, AMD II, etcetera).
