Re: Workaround for a hardwired lowest voltage

I am sure there is a trade off somewhat.

Doesn't the current really only significantly increase when there are actual calculations performed as opposed to just the clock ticking faster?

Workaround for a hardwired lowest voltage

I have heard of other intel cpu having a hardcoded lowest voltage. Mine is a duo T2500 and it has the same hardcode, mine at .95v. Since my cpu works at .95v for the next available higher frequency, I thought to just set the base frequency from the default lowest of 1,000,000 to 1,333,000 in that it...

speedstep-centrino for 2.6.31-14-generic-phc

Hello concerned Historically I have only been able to get the speedstep_centrino patches to work. I have the new Ubuntu 9.10 installed and found that my old speedstep patched kernel from the previous release no longer works within the 9.10 Ubuntu environment. I have the *-phc kernel packages install...

Re: Troubleshooting

Hello, When I cat phc_, I get 'No such device' Everything went smoothly from the kernel compile to the offtree compile and it's installation. I have the phc files but get the error. Previously I have been able to use the testing version for the 2.6.27 kernel and achieve success through speedstep-cen...

Re: Patch appears to do nothing

What could be the reasons for not having the chance to add a "y" to any of the options, following patching, copying the .config then make oldconfig? It just blows through giving me no chance to answer to anything. When I did it under the 2.6.18 kernel I had this chance. I am trying to just build the...

Re: Patch appears to do nothing

Patching fails - I am using the kernels that come with the distributions and this one is 2.6.26, that patch is for 2.6.27. Perhaps thats why. Thanks for all the suggestions though.

Re: Patch appears to do nothing

I did a rmmod speedstep_centrino and it said that it was not loaded
I then did a modprobe acpi_cpufreq and no echo or error

lsmod

acpi_cpufreq 6796 0

It should give those phc vid options just with the module loaded no?
