Re: Status of linux-PHC

The same here, I spent some time on that, but seems no way to do that, up to now.

PHC support for Intel latest CPU families Sandy/Ivy Bridge

Hey everybody, here I am with bad news from Intel. "There's no easy way to say this, so I'll just say it."* The voltage control interface has been deeply modified, so right now, the latest Intel CPU families are not supported. Sandy/Ivy Bridge CPUs have 0x00 VIDs @ any FID. I wrote myself a MSR dump...

Re: Linux-phc does not work with i7-2670QM

Ok, here comes some new updates: The FID is still in place (0xCE 0x198 and 0x199) but since Sandy/Ivy Bridge CPUs have a different architecture they work with fixed base clock @ 100MHz and that FID is now the plain CPU multiplier (which, in my case, changes from 08 to 1a in normal mode and to 22 in ...

Re: Linux-phc does not work with i7-2670QM

Hey I though you were a bit busy to update... In these 24h (since I got my brand new CPU) I've been deep-searching in the net and I found that Sandybridge and Ivybridge are not supported by phc-intel. BTW I have a i7-3720QM on board. Here comes the techical stuff... They just messed up IA32_PERF_STA...

Re: New leader for Linux-PHC?

Heya,

I think I'm doing a great job by advertising PHC and PHCTool on my blog www.linuxsolver.blogspot.com. As I wrote you by PM I'm also trying to keep PHCTool working, so I'd be glad to keep up that section of the forum.

Cheers!

Re: mobile sandy bridge (i3): "CPU not recognized"

I think the post should be moved (or doubled) to phc Help (not phctool)

Re: Installation of phc-intel on RHEL-6

Take a look here:

http://linuxsolver.blogspot.it/2012/05/ ... -1204.html

you have to make sure old modules are no more loaded or, if it necessary, blacklisted.

If you care you can install phctool too, to set voltages easily. ^_^
