Re: phc-intel does not work on U9400 (core 2 duo penryn)

I checked using msrtool (http://www.linux-phc.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=13) and I looked at the temperature: using a 13 vid (instead of 22) the temperature goes down by 10°C and msrtool confirms it does work. It is the lower vid I can set and the cpu is still rock solid, it is strange but it wo...

phc-intel does not work on U9400 (core 2 duo penryn)

Hi, I am using sys-power/phc-intel-0.3.2.12.1-r3 (gentoo's ebuild) with linux-3.0.4. While running mprime (two threads) I did echo 13 13 13 13 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_vids && echo 13 13 13 13 > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/cpufreq/phc_vids. mprime didn't crash and it continued to ...

Re: 136x multiplier? O_O

I thinked it should be the lower one, not 136 :D At least for this I found an answer: At the meantime we found out about those "strange" FIDs. The 0.3.x - patches does not interpref the Byte where the FID is stored correctly. Your first FID ( 74 ) is FID 10 with another Bit set that enables Non-Int...

Re: 136x multiplier? O_O

it's the second number you have to change, not the first :-) I know it, but I thinked it should be the lower one, not 136 :D Also, is the first the "overclock" mode? How can I check when and if it use it? How can I check the frequency it uses? Does the conservative governor uses it? cpufrequtils 00...

136x multiplier? O_O

:o
Have a look at:
laptop ~ # cat /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/phc_controls
8:31 7:22 6:15 136:13

What is this? :?

The cpu is a Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU U9400 @ 1.40GHz

Re: phc-intel hangs acpid

Sorry, it wasn't a phc-intel issue, for some strange reason doing

Code: Select all

echo on > /sys/bus/usb/devices/$usb_device/power/autosuspend
for some devices (one of them is my mouse) after putting them in a power management state hangs the system.
