t8300: differences between specifications and what I can see

Hello,

I have a t8300 cpu and the lowest voltage I can have is 1.0500v
my laptop is 61° idle and I can see on this website that it can run really lower:

http://www.cpu-world.com/sspec/SL/SLAYQ.html

Why can't I go lower then ??

Thankyou for your answer :-)

Re: 136x multiplier? O_O

it's the second number you have to change, not the first :-)

136 show you that this is the SLFM mode or Super Lower Frequence Mode ;-)

no worry

using only one core on DualCore

I recently found this on Google: echo 0 >> /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu1/online in order to offline a cpu. I tried, it seemed to work but powertop doesn't show me a difference of Watt consumption, is it normal ?? Because it could save lot of energy if laptop is used to simple things like using openof...

Re: geek question :P

after some research, I really am not the only one who wanna try this ^^ Like you said, the difference of voltage between usb and internal plugin may harm my laptop if I plug in a fan to a usb. Plus: there i no way to transform a cable to usb. But exists a lot of y cable. But in this case, I have to ...

Re: geek question :P

That's what I thought for Y-cable

So USB would be maybe possible... but how to create it ? don't you know some website which sells this kind of thing ? or some tutorial ??

For the software way, Everything isalready set up. I even modified my vbios to add an other ultra low frequence
